- This frame is available in a low-frame style (floor to top of frame is 8 1/2") or standard height (floor to top of frame is 18").
- This bed frame was specifically designed for the All Wool Mattress, yet can be used for any mattress. Likewise, the All Wool Mattress can be used on any bed frame as long as it has a slatted frame with the recommended specifications. See the All Wool Mattress page for more information.
Bed Frames For Support: A proper bed frame will give the mattress and your back the support it needs. It is not only important for your body's health, but also important in terms of your mattress warranty which can be voided if you are not using the proper support. No matter which bed frame you choose for our mattresses, make sure it has the proper support.
A bed frame also lifts your mattress off the ground providing the proper air flow the mattress needs. Both of the frames that we sell are slatted, which also allow for proper airflow. We do not recommend placing a bed on the floor or on a solid platform bed frame which will not provide enough airflow. Our frames are available in a low-frame style for a bed closer to the ground which can be very nice for young children, or in a standard height which can accommodate a box-spring or foundation if desired.
Sustainably Harvested & Made: The two types of bed frames we offer are both made with woods that come from sustainably local sources. The California Beauty Bed Frame uses selectively harvested timber from Oregon woods while the Artisan Bed Frame uses wood that is FSC Certified (Forest Stewardship Council), a rigorous third party certification program for wood similar to "organic" food certification. This wood is specifically from Wild Thyme Farm in Washington- a permaculture tree farm. Both frames are made right here in the USA by 2 craftsman builders who are known for their quality. Lastly, the woods are finished with non-toxic oils that are natural and will not off-gas or contribute to unnecessary chemicals in the home. |
