Dong Quai Combo has been formulated specifically for treating symptoms associated with the female reproductive tract, and especially for disorders of menstruation. The ingredients in this formula have hundreds of years of traditional use behind them. Modern clinical and laboratory work confirms that they effectively treat symptoms associated with menstruation, including painful periods (dysmenorrhea), premenstrual tension and as a general tonic to the female reproductive tract.
The lead three herbs in this formula – namely dong quai, rehmannia and black cohosh – work together in superb synergy, combining to provide the body with natural hormone-balancing mechanisms, each with its own strong suit. The other herbs in this formula augment their hormone-regulating benefits. These remaining ingredients effectively address key symptomatic issues related to menstruation. These include premenstrual irritability, depression, bloating, as well as painful periods. Administration: (adults) take 20-30 drops (0.7-1 ml) 3-4X daily in a little water, on an empty stomach. For long-term use as a tonic and menstruation regulator, discontinue use during the menstrual cycle.
Contra-indications and Cautions:
Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking prescription medications or have been diagnosed with a medical condition. Do not take this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if suffering from hormone sensitive conditions, such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, breast, uterine, or ovarian cancer. Reduce dosage or discontinue use if you experience a hypersensitivity reaction.

A NOTE ON TINCTURES
Tinctures are more readily absorbed by the body and have a high degree of bio-availability. As well, they have a long shelf life.
Sometimes people ask us why tinctures are alcohol-based. There are very good reasons. Alcohol is critically important in the extraction of an herb's medicinal ingredients. It also helps to stabilize and preserve them. Alcohol is the ideal carrier substance, conveying the therapeutic goodness of the herb to the body. In itself, too, science has proven that alcohol enhances the immune system and its defences.
As for the amount of alcohol taken in an average dose of tincture, you'll be surprised to learn that it's about the same as what you'd find in an overly ripe banana!
