OUR LAST SHIPMENT SOLD OUT BEFORE ARRIVING! *The Safe Sippy holds 11 ounces. It weighs approximately 5 ounces empty. (It's not heavy; the stainless steel is single-walled.) *All plastics are certified free of Bisphenol A, DEHA and phthalates. They also use an independent testing lab, STR, to test all aspects of the cup. *The cup itself (where the water sits) is medical grade stainless steel. Non-leaching, non-toxic. *The spout is shaped like a straw as new research suggests it is better for mouth development. *The handles are removable Safe Sippy has kept contact between water and plastic to a minimum, and have insisted that all plastics be certified free of Bisphenol A, phthalates and DEHA. They pay for extensive independent laboratory testing on their cups to make sure they are free of these chemicals. Lastly, They make their cap out of Polypropylene, #5 plastic. PP is the most stable of all plastics. They have also taken into consideration the fun stuff, like hands - little hands, messy hands, hands that can't quite hold onto big things yet; the developing mouths and speech abilities of growing infants; children's desire to look at bright, colorful objects; children's propensity for turning food delivery systems into projectiles...and other things as well.
